BACKGROUND
I am a triple board-certified physician based in San Mateo, CA, with specialties in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Adult Psychiatry, and Addiction Medicine. I obtained my medical degree at the University of Bergen, Norway, my residency in Adult Psychiatry at UC Davis & California Pacific Medical Center, and my fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at UCSF.

TREATMENT MODALITIES
The treatments I provide include evidence-based psychotherapies and medication management
whether it is for mental health disorders or addiction.
The type of psychotherapies I incorporate could include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
For Substance Use Disorders, I use Motivational Interviewing and medications to manage cravings and withdrawals, such as Buprenorphine for Opioid Use Disorders.

What insurances do you accept?
I am an in-network provider for Aetna & Cigna Insurance.
How much is your private fee?
For adults, the initial psychiatric evaluation is $600 per hour. For children & adolescents, the initial psychiatric evaluation is $1600 for both the child/youth and their parent(s) or guardian(s). Thereafter, the follow-up fee for all patients is $375 for a 25-30 min session and $500 for a 45-50 min session.
What if you do not accept my insurance?
I can provide a super bill to submit to your insurance and you will be seen as an out-of-network patient.
How will our initial session be conducted?
For our first appointment, I prefer to meet with you in person at my office in San Mateo, CA. After our initial appointment, you have the option to have your future appointments in-person or online.
What languages do you speak?
I am fluent in English, Farsi, and Norwegian.
